Message in a bottle exhibit

BOOK now

Featuring

over 50 bottles

in one, unique collection

Rare message in a bottle memorabilia, filled with raw, human emotion, found along the Mississippi River and other U.S. rivers by 2013 CNN Hero of the Year, Chad Pregracke, the Living Lands & Waters crew and the many volunteers over 20 years of clean-ups.

In this unique collection, no single artist is featured, but the personal voices of everyday Americans
are on display. Throughout history, the Message in a Bottle phenomenon makes many appearances: Greek water current studies, Japanese epics, Poe, Dickens, and rock band, The Police. This exhibit continues the tradition, capturing the zeitgeist of the Message in a Bottle through American eyes.

exhibition

Each Message in a Bottle has been housed in its own handmade box of reclaimed wood, also found during river cleanups. A
photo of each bottle’s handwritten message is displayed, along with the date and city/state of discovery (when known). For a full gallery of photos, visit our Exhibit Schedule page.

Play the exhibit up (above at the Houston Museum of Natural Science) or keep in it's raw state. Click on the images from the Houston Chronicle (below) to read their take on the exhibit.
